My dad got this by e-mail from NDA. Thought I'd share because it's pretty cool news:

The Department of State has announced the winners of the 2005 Doors to Diplomacy Award. Notre Dame Academy's very own have been

Ello all! I just stumbled across this site looking for my own school. Seeing as there isn't an NDA for me specifically (NDA in Park Hills, KY) I was wondering if I might join--ya know, spread the NDA pride (even though I am not liking it at the moment). But yea, just consider it--especially you beatles! Since I know you're the mod...

I just thought I'd pass along this information about a site created by some NDA students. They entered a scholarship competition sponsored by an organization under the U.S. State Dept and they had to create a website for it. They decided to focus it on Kashmir.

Go visit it! They want as many people as possible to learn about Kashmir. http://www.doorstokashmir.net.

Go NDA! :)

12:52 am - A Tribute to NDA

beatlelove
I apologize for not bringing this community to life- I'm a horrible moderator! But I've been so busy with my first semester of college that I only recently began updating my personal journal again.

A few days ago, a friend of mine sent me an email with something she wrote about her NDA experience. It really touched my heart, so I figured I would post it here for you to enjoy as well.

”Sometimes something hits me and I'm reminded of mornings where the day begins at 8:13. I'm reminded of a place where decorating your planners is a competitive art form and where you come to love gray plaid skirts and warm knee socks. I'm reminded of lunch: A, B, C, the strange but always amusing conversations and turkey-gravy mashed potato day w/ whip'n chill pie where certain friends wouldn't speak to you if you forgot to remind them about it. I'm reminded of an endlessly long alma mater, a gymnatorium, advisee, and religion classes where all you had to do was "be." But most of all, I'm reminded of the greatest friends who always knew how to make you smile and were always there when you needed them... NDA class of '03, yea thats right.”

What do you miss most about NDA? What random things take you back to that oddly designed building we called home for four years?

10:00 pm - Welcome to the journal for NDA!

beatlelove
This is a community for alumnae and current students of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, Ohio. Feel free to join and share all about your Notre Dame experience. If you're an alum, you could give the year you graduated and discuss what you've been up to since you graduated. Other topics we could discuss are everyone's favorite (or least favorite) teachers, favorite (or least favorite) thing about Notre Dame, and anything that makes you say, "that's Notre Dame."

I am your moderator, beatlelove. My name is Laura, and I'm a 2003 graduate of NDA who must be feeling a bit nostalgic. I look forward to sharing with all of you in the future!
